Description: An alabaster cosmetic pot of squat baluster form, some kohl deposits in the interior. The lip with losses to one side and some small chips to the base, but a good-sized and originally a fine example,

Size: 56 mm/2.2 ins. high, the wide flat lip 48 mm/1.9 ins. in diameter.

Date: Middle Kingdom, c. 2055-1650 B.C.

Provenance: Ex UK private collection but originally collected in the 1930’s by H.G. Ramsell (died 1960) of Wolverhampton. Previously with Bonhams, New Bond Street, London (part of Lot 215, ‘Antiquities’ Sale, 7 July 2016).
