An Egyptian steatite scarab, c. 2nd Millennium B.C.

Description: A steatite scarab, the base carved with an incised design showing two figures (perhaps baboons) either side of a pillar with the solar barque above, a neb sign below. A small ancient side chip to the base at one end, with a larger more recent chip to the base on the opposite side, but the design clear. The scarab with a dark patina.

Size: 17 mm/0.6 in. in length
