Description: A bronze figure of Nefertum, god of the primeval lotus blossom, from which the sun arose, striding forwards and wearing the lotus crown, a loop on the back of the head for attachment. Broken at the ankles, some surface wear, and with a dark brown patina with patchy green encrustation.

Size: 89 mm/3.5 ins. high

Date: Late Period, c. 600 B.C.

Provenance: Ex Francis Birch Collection, Lincoln, and acquired from Richard Gill of Eternal Egypt in January 1991. The bronze is number 32 in the Eternal Egypt catalogue ‘Amun’.
