Description: A mottled grey flint borer fashioned from a thick angular flake with a patch of cortex remaining, attached by cord to an annotated card. The card foxed with some patches of darker staining near the top edge. Found at Puttenham, near Guildford, Surrey, in March 1927.
Size: Borer 44 mm/1.7 ins. in length, annotated card, 60 x 91 mm/2.4 x 3.6 ins.
Culture: Neolithic
Date: c. 3rd Millennium B.C.
A nice example of the careful recording of even minor artefacts by early 20th Century collectors.
