Description: A brown flint endscraper fashioned from a subrectangular flake, an area of cortex remaining on one side. The scraper attached by cord to an annotated card. The card foxed and creased, with one corner torn. Found at Wanborough, near Guildford, Surrey, in 1931.

Size: Scraper 46 x 37 mm/1.8 x 1.4 ins., annotated card, 60 x 92 mm/2.4 x 3.6 ins.

Culture: Neolithic

Date: c. 3rd Millennium B.C.

Notes: Described as Upper Palaeolithic on the card, but a Neolithic date seems probable.

A nice example of the careful recording of even the humblest artefacts by early 20th Century collectors.
