Description: A subcircular gray flint scraper retouched along its entire margin and with a substantial area of cortex remaining on one side. The scraper attached by cord to an annotated card. The card foxed and creased in places. Found at Shackleford, near Godalming, Surrey, in 1928.

Size: Scraper 36 x 41 mm/1.4 x 1.6 ins., annotated card 59 x 91 mm/2.3 x 3.6 ins.

Culture: Neolithic

Date: c. 3rd Millennium B.C.

A nice example of the careful recording of even the humblest artefacts by early 20th Century collectors.
