Description: A dark grey flint ‘segmental tool’, possibly a small chopper or scraper, with a large area of cortex remaining at the ‘butt’. The implement attached by cord to an annotated card. The card foxed and curled with some edge nicks. Found at Hougham, near Folkestone, Kent, in December 1928.

Size: Tool 43 x 48 mm/1.7 x 1.9 ins., annotated card 59 x 90 mm/2.3 x 3.5 ins.

Culture: Neolithic

Date: c. 3rd Millennium B.C.

A nice example of the careful recording of small artefacts by early 20th Century collectors.
