Description: A tightly-woven basket, the rim with equidistant short thin bands of black decoration and a small shallow area of inoffensive rim loss. Slightly misshapen but condition good, reputedly from Nazca, southern Peru.

Size: 77 mm/2.9 ins. high and 136 mm/5.5 ins. in diameter

Culture: Nazca, Peru

Date: c. 400-600 A.D.

Provenance: Previously in a private Maryland collection, USA.

Notes: Although purportedly from Nazca, very similar in form to Native American examples.
