Description: A red-slipped oil lamp with round nozzle flanked by single volutes and with ring handle, a quatrefoil design moulded on the discus. The slip rather unevenly applied and some patchy wear to the slip, a few small chips, but overall in good condition.

Background: The collector, who worked as a buyer for Fortnum and Mason, Piccadilly, London, built up a fine collection of coins and antiquities purchased from leading London dealers.
