Description: A seated wooden figure of Harpocrates wearing the side lock of youth and with arms by his side. The surface weathered with patchy worn white plaster on the legs and upper body and traces of gold leaf on the face, an old collection label on the back. The wooden foot-rest worn but a well-modelled figure and originally a fine object.

Size: 120 mm/4.7 ins. high

Date: Late Period, c. 600-300 B.C.

Provenance: Ex Pinto Collection and from the collection of Pamela Drinkall (1935-2010), previously a curator at Scunthorpe Museum and New Walk Museum, Leicester. She formed her collection from the 1950s to 1960s.
