Description: A good-sized pale blue faience amulet of Bes, the protector of households, mothers and children, depicted naked and wearing a plumed headdress, with hands on thighs and a well-modelled mane at the back of the head; a suspension loop on the reverse. A chip to one side of the plumed headdress, some patchy discolouration and minor encrustation, and a couple of small patches of wear on the reverse, but a nicely modelled example.
