Description: Two small dark stone polished axeheads, one fashioned from basalt with a gentle posterior taper and a large edge chip to the cutting edge, otherwise condition good; the other fashioned from porphyritic dolerite with a gentle posterior taper and rounded butt, entire and in good condition. Both reputedly found in France and Neolithic in date, although in our opinion possibly ethnographic items from the Pacific region.
Size: 49 mm/1.9 ins. and 50 mm/2 ins. in length
Provenance: Ex Scottish Private Collection.
