Description: A good-sized grey flint flake tool with dense chocolate brown patination, some retouching along the edges of the flake and a few inoffensive edge chips, but overall a nice example with attractive patina, found at Long Reach, Dartford, Kent. Notation ‘9-10-87’ in white ink on implement, presumably the find date.

Size: 93 mm/3.7 ins. in length

Culture: Lower Palaeolithic

Date: c. 350,000-400,000 years B.P.
