Description: A good-sized blue faience double-sided openwork Bes amulet. Bes, a protector of households, mothers and children, is depicted with deep recessed eyes, prominent nostrils and mouth, and with hands on knees. He wears a large plumed headdress, the headdress pierced for suspension. A chip to the base and to one plume, and some minor wear to the glaze, but a nice example.
