Description: Two ovoid lead slingshot, one with moulded decoration and both with brown-white patination. Overall surface wear and one with a small lacuna on one side, otherwise condition good.

Date: Second half of the 1st Millennium B.C. – early 1st Millennium A.D.
Provenance: From a Sussex private estate.
Lead slingshots were very effective and deadly weapons being difficult to see in flight and avoid. A skilled slinger could hit a target smaller than a person from 120 m distance.
