Description: A brown chert chopping tool made from a nodule of flattened form with a substantial area of cortex remaining on the upper and lower surface and on the butt, but retouched on both sides around most of the margin, and with well-defined flake scars. An ink inscription records the find spot as ‘Egypt 15 Miles. S. of Thebes W. side of Nile’.

Size: 113 mm/4.4 ins. by 108 mm/4.2 ins.

Culture: Egyptian

Date: c. 300,000-150,000 years B.P.
