Description: A partially polished brown flint gouge with an asymmetric posterior taper and a concave cutting edge. Slight smoothing due to exposure to the desert winds, but complete and condition good.

Size: 62 mm/2.4 ins. in length

Culture: Egyptian

Date: Neolithic to Predynastic Period, c. 5000-3500 B.C.

Provenance: Ex southern English private collection (probably F.S. Clark).
